Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Pete Maravich starred at Lousiana State University playing for his dad, Press Maravich. He is still the all-time leading NCAA Division I scorer with 3,667 points, an average of 44.2 points per game. One analysis shows that Pistol Pete would’ve averaged some 57 points per game if the three point shot had been used during his college playing career. Drafted by the Atlanta Hawks, Maravich went on to a strong career in the NBA. He was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History.
As the video below shows, in addition to his prolific scoring, Maravich was a wizard when it came to passing the ball. His underhanded passes are something you just don’t see very often.
